The first section of flight planning is the 'Allocate' section. This provides a space for allocating personnel and equipment to you job.
Allocating personnel is simple, simply select the 'Name' of the user you wish to assign, and then select a role from the 'Role' drop down. (For help with adding and managing users, see here). The system will allow you to assign multiple roles to one user. Once you have selected a 'Name' and 'Role', be sure to click '+Add' button.
NOTE: Be sure to add a 'Pilot in command' to your job. This will designate the Pilot with Operational control on the ground. The selected user will appear as your PIC in the jobs table.
Allocating ad hoc Personnel
Dronecloud allows you to allocate ad hoc personnel to a job. This is to allow planning to include Persons who are not registered users of the system. Perhaps you will be getting some help from the land owner, or you need to bring in extra marshals to manage the public.
To do this, select the '+Add ad hoc user to this job' option from the 'Name' drop down. Once selected, a new 'Name' text field will appear. Enter the persons name into this field and assign them a role in the normal way, clicking the '+Add' button to submit.
Removing and reassigning Personnel
All allocated users are displayed in the 'Personnel' table along with their assigned roles.
If you have made a mistake and wish to edit a selection, simply the click the row which you want to edit. The 'Name' and 'Role' fields will populate with the previous entry. Simply adjust these values and resubmit to edit.
Alternatively, if you wish to simply delete an entry from the table, just click the 'X' on the relevant row of the 'Remove' column, as highlighted above.
To allocate an aircraft, select an aircraft from the 'Aircraft name' drop down and then assign a pilot from the 'Pilot' drop down. Once you have made your selections, click the '+Add' button.
(For help creating an aircraft, click here).
Removing and editing assigned aircraft
Assigned aircraft will appear in the Aircraft table. If you wish to change the aircraft or pilot, select the appropriate row in the table. The Aircraft and Pilot fields will populate with the previously entered information. Reselect from the fields and click the '+Add' button to update the row with the correct data. Alternatively, if you wish to simply remove a row, select the 'X' icon.
