Flights
Dronecloud allows users to record flight logs in three ways:
1. Manually inputting the necessary information on the post-flight tab
2. Importing log files created by most DJI / Parrot model drones (Growth & Enterprise only)
3. Using the log syncing app https://support.dronecloud.io/hc/en-us/sections/28361932860317-Install-Use-Log-Sync-Mobile
Log files can be viewed and managed in the Logs Table (under Fleet). If a log file has been uploaded then you will see a preview icon. Clicking this icon opens the log file viewer, which shows a detailed log playback and metrics such as distance flow, stick movements and inflight messages.
Normally, logs are added to an individual operation following one of the three workflows outlined below.
1. Manually Input Log File Information
- In the Post-Flight tab, in the "Flight Logs" section, click the Create Log button. This will open up the New Flight Log Modal. Here you can add information to the flight log and save it to the operation.
- Pilot, Aircraft, Start Time and Duration are mandatory fields.
- If the Aircraft selected requires battery logs, this section will also be mandatory.
2. Upload a Log File from DJI, Parrot ANAFI, Velos or Anzu Drones
(Growth & Enterprise - contact us to enable)
You can import your flight logs from most models of drone and controller from DJI, Parrot ANAFI, Velos and Anzu manufacturers. You can upload log files either from the Post-Flight tab in an operation, or from the Flight Logs table.
Log files typically end in .txt or .bin and can be found on your flight controller. Click the button or drag files into the box to upload. This can be found in the Post Flight Tab, or in the Flight Logs Table (in the Fleet section ).
NOTE: To drag and drop, or select multiple files to upload, log files must be first copied to the local device.
- Your uploaded log files will appear in the Unassigned Table until they are linked to an operation.
You now must assign logs to an operation by selecting the check box and clicking assign. You will be asked to confirm the pilot and aircraft before assigning it to this operation.
- Once logs are assigned to an operation, they will appear in the Assigned Table
Here you can see log details, expand each log by clicking on the preview icon.
If there are any actions required, for example, batteries that need linking, you will see the warning triangle icon. Click on the log file row in the table to open it and link the batteries.
Battery Logs
Battery logs are automatically imported if they are detected in the log file by the system. If no battery data is detected, battery logs can still be added manually as before. Log files contain the battery serial number and the system will attempt to match this with a serial number for a battery in your fleet. If it detects a match, then the battery will automatically be assigned to the log file.
If no match is detected, you can manually link a battery to a log by clicking the "Link to existing battery" button in the Battery Logs tab of the Flight Log. You can also create a new battery if it doesn't already exist in your account.
Drones with battery pairs
Some DJI drone models use battery pairs. Refer to our help article explicitely regarding battery pairs here:
